OUR HANDS

Our hands hold strong mysteries,
of where we have been and what we hold dear.

They can be used to hug or strike,
for a mother's caress or a lover's care
and for mending and tearing -- they are always there.

They are tools for healing and touch,
for prayer and instruments of toil.

We use them in so many ways
thoughout our life,
from early morn to the darkest of dark nights.

From humbly washing our face,
to turning on the lights,
which illuminate our space.

passes us by -
unless we take the time -
take the moment

To just enjoy.
